In his book How the Irish Saved Civilization, history scholar Thomas Cahill explains how fifth-century monks in Ireland saved and copied books that would have otherwise been lost in the barbarian invasions of continental Europe. One might say those ancient Irishmen were the predecessors of Doorstep Digital, the Texas photo and document archiving service whose motto is “Saving Yesterday for Tomorrow.”
